If you already have a Capitol One account – click “Sign In & Activate”. Sign in and provide the requested information to activate your Platinum credit card which typically includes entering your full 16-digit card number, expiration date and 3-digit security code from the back of your card.
If you do not have a Capital One account – click “Enroll & Activate”. Enrolling simply means signing up for a Capital One online account so that you can manage your new Capital One card 24/7. Having an online account gives you the ability to check recent purchases, check your total balance, check available purchasing power, make a payment and much more. To enroll you’ll need to provide your Last Name, Social Security Number and Date of Birth. After providing this info click “Get Started” and Capitol One will search for your information in their database and link your credit card to your new online account.
From there you’ll need to enter information from your new Platinum Capital One card including your 16-digit card number, card expiration date and the 3-digit security code found on the back of your card.
How to Activate Your Capital One Platinum Card with the Capital One App?
App activation is simple just like activating at www.capitalone.con/activate as well and it is a preferred method over phone activation. Firstly you’ll need to make sure you have your card in hand and then you’ll need to download the Capital One iOS or Android app. Once you have downloaded the app open it and tap “Set Up Online Access”. Then tap “Capital One Credit Card”. From there you’ll need to enter your Last Name, Date of Birth and Social Security Number. The tap “Find Me” and Capital One will link your identity to your new Capital One online account.
Once you’ve finished setting up online access tap the help tab at the bottom to chat with Eno the Capital One assistant and type in the word activate. From there follow Eno’s instructions for activating your card.
In some cases Eno will offer a direct link to activate specific cards that are already linked to your account or he will ask you to link the card to your account that you’re trying to activate incase that particular card isn’t already linked to your account.

Once you have your card in hand just call Capital One at 1-800-678-7820 and follow the automated prompts to activate your card.
After activating your card over the phone you’ll still need to complete the enrollment process in order to use the Capital One online banking portal to manage your new credit card account. Hence why we suggest avoiding phone activation and just using the Capital One Platinum card activation website where you’ll complete activation and online banking sign at the same time.
